All jewelry is designed and made in the USA. Every piece is completed in my workshop. I use a variety of techniques learned over the years including, wire wrapping, setting stones, and hand sculpting. 

Mariel Cristofar Jewelry is made with all natural gemstones and high quality metals. All stones are hand picked and all designs are made to be worn comfortably and for a long life. 

The following is a list of the metals that I use:

Sterling Silver - .925 silver is 925 parts out of 1000 pure silver, the remaining parts

         can be a mix of base metals. I use only Sterling silver that is nickel free

Fine Silver - .999 silver is 999 parts out of 1000 pure silver. It is slightly softer than

          sterling silver and does not contain any other base metals

14k Gold Fill - The inner core is brass and the outer 1/3 is 14k gold. This creates a 

           thick layer of 14k gold that does not easily wear off as with plated or

           vermeil.

14k Gold - These pieces are crafted in solid 14k Gold.

Properly caring for your Mariel Cristofar jewelry is easy and will insure it retains its beauty for years to come.

Over time, all silver jewelry will tarnish / get surface oxidation. Don't worry this can easily be cleaned off. First, while not wearing, always store jewelry in an oxygen free environment, like a jewelry box or bag, to slow tarnish.

To clean off dirt and cosmetic build up, you  may use tepid water (not hot!!)  and a drop of soap. An old toothbrush will do wonders on the nooks and crannies. The reason to not use hot water is that if a stone (and this is quite common with herkimer diamonds) has a micro inclusion of water, seen or not, the heat can cause expansion of the water which could ultimately crack or expose the stone..

A silver cleaning compound or natural liquid jewelry cleaner may also be used. 

Take care around softer stones such as opal and kyanite, by polishing only the metal.

A polishing cloth  may also be used on the metal to remove tarnish and brighten the sheen.
